Daniel Alderson

Daniel Alderson

Daniel Alderson is 23 years old from Barnard Castle in Northern England.

Daniel is the Rider and Head Lad for Belline Sport Horses.

Daniel passed his A Levels in 2012 studying Human Biology, English Language and Physical Education.

He is a qualified instructor after passing his PTT and
Stage 2 exam and is continuing to study for his Stage 3 in his ‘spare’ time.

Daniel worked for Wills Oakden for the summer when he was 16 and this is where his passion to pursue eventing started started. He then went on to be Head Lad/
Second Rider for Jeanette Brakewell for 4 years where the foundation for his career began.

Daniel bought and produced his first horse Cloud Atlas as a 4yo. Together, they have qualified for the National Eventing Championships, were short listed for the Young Rider European Teams and they have competed successfully at 3* level. 

Over in Ireland he has carried on competing internationally at 3* level gaining many good results and has produced a lot of young horses to achieve fantastic results as well as being one of the only riders to qualify three horses for Dublin young event horse class in 2017.

Richard Ames

Richard is the owner of Belline Estate/sport horses.

Richard has always had a passion for horses and especially eventing, his love for eventing started from an early age and he has been involved in the sport for over 20 years as it started with his daughters who had a variety of horses who regularly competed in the eventing circuit in the U.K.

 His other passion is hunting and he was master of the Suffolk Hunt for around 20 years.

Richard bought Belline 4 years ago to run his string of event horses from his base in Ireland. 

Tanja O'Flynn

Tanja (partner of Richard) also has a keen interest in horses and plays a role in the running of the yard. One of Tanja’s keen interests is breeding and we produce up to 5 foals a year here at Belline.

Cassie Arnold

Cassie Arnold

Cassie Arnold is 21 years old, from Burton-On-Trent and is Head Groom at Belline Equestrian.

Cassie finished school at 16 after completing her GCSE’s and started an apprenticeship with Stubbing Court. The Level 2 and 3 in Horse Care and Management was completed with Jeanette Brakewell, whom she worked with for 3 and a half years.

Cassie completed 3 seasons with her own horse Killernan Prince, finishing with a CCI 1* in 2016 at Osberton International.

Since then she has had a year out of eventing – travelling and working in Japan, America and Spain working on her teaching and riding. Now she is back fresh and ready to get back into the eventing circuit.

Abbie Forster

Abbie Forster is 17 years old from Selkirk in the Scottish borders and is our working pupil here at Belline.

Abbie is an all round sports enthusiast. She has a major interest in eventing, started riding at 3 and as an 11 year old was part of Lilliesleaf primary school to win the Scottish school combined training championships. In 2017 she had a very successful eventing season winning one event and finishing in the top 10 in every other event.

Abbie’s other passion is hockey where she captained the school senior team and played for the South District under 14’s and 16’s. Also played and captained club hockey for Fjordhus Reivers Ladies 3’s winning promotion to East league 1. 

Abbie has joined us half way through the 2018 season and we are very excited to have her as part of our team and Abbie is looking forward to developing her riding skills and equestrian knowledge with us here at Belline.

Richard Denton and Tom Bowe

Richard and Tom are an invaluable part of the daily running of the yard, they help us with the morning duties of the yard as well as keeping the estate in immaculate condition doing the grounds work duties, putting up fencing rails, cleaning and maintaining machinery and generally keeping Belline in tip top shape!
