Tattersalls June 4th

Daniel’s Blog

I had an amazing week at Tatts with the old boys, they both looked and felt fantastic!
T.S Jamaimo contested the CCI**U25 where he did a little bit of a feisty test but then continued to jump an immaculate double clear to finish 11th.
Flying Finish was in the CIC*** where he did a beautiful test and also jumped a super double clear to finish 8th in a very hot section, was an incredible feeling to be competing against some of the worlds best riders!! Thank you to Lisa White for working wonders with mine and the horses dressage. Lee Maher stepped in at Tatts to look after myself and the horses and as always he did a fantastic job of keeping the week running smoothly and turning the horses out immaculately.
And then to top it off Ballyvillane OBOS my little 5yo superstar won and qualified yesterday for the young event horse class in Dublin.
All the horses are owned by Richard Ames so a massive thank you for his continued support and encouragement.
Cassie Arnold and Orla Mulvihill are doing a great job at home and other competitions; keeping the horses happy and the yard running so well.
Amazing photos taken by Louise O’brien photography and Vicky Lambert photography.

Killossery and Kilguilkey May 30th

Daniel’s Blog

We had another busy but successful weekend for Belline Equestrian competing both Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday we headed to Killossery with the 5yo’s in the 100 class. All scoring in the 20’s for dressage and feeling even more confident each run. Derena Super Star finished 4th and Italy 3rd both owned by Richard Ames, and Warrenstown Cruz 2nd owned by Tanja O’Flynn.
Then we had a quick turn around. On Sunday we headed to Kilguilkey where the ground proved difficult as we experienced thunderstorms through the night but thankfully Danny Dulohery and Michelle Dulohery did a fantastic job to keep the event running. I had my own Cloud Atlas in the OI for his first run of the season, he loved being back out finishing 4th. Sadly my special boy is still for sale after having time wasters trial him. I had three horses in the Novice; Ballybolger Watchman and Ballybolger Chloe owned by John Watson both performed very well finishing 8th and 7th. RCA Royal Mist owned by Richard was a little star – feeling like a little pro to take the win .
I am now on route to Tattersalls with the old boys to give them a spin. Fingers crossed for an enjoyable week.

Rosanna 22nd May

Daniel’s Blog

This weekend we had another enjoyable weekend competing at Rosanna with four horses.
RCA Royal Summer owned by Richard Ames completed his second ever event and improved in all phases in the 100, jumping double clear with a 30 dressage to finish 9th, took him slowly for his education which dropped us down the placings but he’s a big boy and only 5 years old.
Ballybolger Chloe owned by John Watson made the step up to Novice and gave me a fantastic feeling; 27 dressage, 4 pens s-j but an awesome clear x-c to finish 7th which we were delighted with!
RCA Royal Mist was on top form jumping double clear to earn her first point but a little feisty in the dressage meant she was just outside the top 10.
Flying Finish owned by Richard Ames had his prep run before Tatts; he contested the intermediate, he led the dressage and jumped an immaculate double clear to finish 2nd.
Massive thank you to Cassie Arnold for being amazing at the event as always.

Ballindenisk 16th May

Daniel’s Blog

I was competing at Ballindenisk on Sunday with 5 horses. The ground still isn’t great over here, we are still hoping for some more sunshine which meant the show jumping was especially tricky for all the horses.
I rode Ballybolger Watchman for John Watson in the Novice, he was on top form to do a very smart test, rolled one pole but jumped an easy clear x-c to finish 3rd.
I had four horses in the 100, all 5 years old and I have produced them all from day one which makes it even more enjoyable. They were all very grown up for their second event of the year, all posting good dressage tests with a few silly baby mistakes but all jumping double clear out of testing conditions which I was delighted with.
Ballyvillane OBOS owned by Richard Ames finished 7th.
Italy owned by Richard 4th.
Warrenstown Cruz owned by Tanja O’Flynn 3rd.
Derena Superstar owned by Richard 2nd.
A massive thank you to Lee Maher and Orla Mulvihill for keeping the rather busy day running so smoothly.

Stepping Stones 30th April

Daniel’s Blog

I had another great time at Stepping Stones this year. All the 4yo’s have learnt a lot and improved throughout the series. A big thank you to Orla Roche and everyone at Wexford who made the competitions run so efficiently.
Sadly I couldn’t hold onto my title from last year where I won on Ballyvillane OBOS but Belline Diamond Swatch (pictured below) finished overall a very respectable joint 2nd alongside Sarah Ennis which I was thrilled about.
All the 4yo’s are now having a well deserved holiday.

We Have A Visitor

This week we have Dan’s mum Anne visiting us all the way from Barnard Castle.

A keen rider herself, after several injuries Anne now indulges her equestrian passion by supporting Daniel at various events around the UK.

When she visits us at Belline, we put her to work! We just have to make sure that have the steps on-hand at all times, as she’s vertically challenged!
